Check Out The Lineup For The 2023 Monsters Of Rock Cruise

monster of rock cruise

Just after 7 PM, Slaughter took on the Theater stage for their first show on this Monsters of Rock Cruise. Presently, the group features original members Mark Slaughter on vocals and Dana Strum on bass, as well as longtime guitarist Jeff Blando, and behind the kit, they’ve got one of the best modern rock drummers as far as I’m concerned, Jordan Cannata. On a stage completely filled with smoke, these Las Vegas rock n’ rollers perform all their classic tunes, some from each of their first two records, as well as Led Zeppelin’s “Immigrant Song.” After more than 30 years, Slaughter are still stickin’ it to ya out on the road and evidently out on the high seas as well. Back in the day, Extreme created a never before seen musical style – combining hair metal with funk – and to this day they are still innovating, especially with their 2023 album. The deck is absolutely packed, ready to see the high-energy show the group is known for – and of course, this set was no different.

Coming off the heels of a new studio album release, Frehley is performing on the Monsters of Rock Cruise. His band is made up of incredibly talented musicians, guitarist Jeremy Asbrock, bassist Ryan Cook and drummer Scot Coogan. With a classic Ace combo; a Les Paul and big ‘ol sunglasses, this guitar hero takes on a bunch of popular KISS songs, as well as some solo tunes. Another of Sweden’s finest melodic rock bands aboard the MORC this year, H.E.A.T. performed their second set of the week on the Pool Stage mid-afternoon. This band really brought an ‘80s festival vibe with this set, including their signature synth sound, high energy performance, hair blowing in the wind under a sunny blue sky, retro-style clothes, etc. Vocalist Kenny Leckremo took it upon himself to climb up the rafters, reaching nearly the top of the stage, and singing to the crowd from above.

Over 30 Artists Announced For 2024 MONSTERS OF ROCK Cruise

Somewhere in the middle of the Caribbean… not so long ago… it’s day 4 of the Monsters Of Rock Cruise. If you’ve been following my coverage of the best rock n’ roll experience on the high seas, you’ve seen what a fantastic time it’s been… but it’s not over yet. The cruise is set to take place February 9th through 14th, 2022, and feature performances from over 35 artists including Skid Row, Lit, L.A. Guns, Kix, Winger, Michael Monroe, Great White, H.E.A.T., Loudness, Pat Travers, Vixen, Faster Pussycat, and more. The cruise will set sail from Miami, Florida, and stop at two ports, CocoCay in the Bahamas and Labadee in Haiti. A leader in cruise charter innovation, Monsters of Rock Cruise (MORC) has sailed over 30,000 passengers in the last ten years.

A leader in cruise charter innovation, Monsters Of Rock cruise has sailed over 30,000 passengers in the last ten years. The annual Monsters Of Rock cruise (MORC),one of the world's premier hard rock and heavy metal fan immersive music cruises, is returning for its twelfth year. The 12th annual Monsters Of Rock Cruise is scheduled to set sail March 2-7, 2024 aboard Royal Caribbean’s Independence of the Seas. The cruise will depart from the Port Of Miami, Florida, with ports of call including Ocho Rios, Jamaica, and Nassau, Bahamas. The night’s final show for me was Firehouse in the Theater, which began at midnight. The group played nearly all of their debut record with ease, especially original guitarist Bill Leverty, who makes every shred-filled solo look like an absolute breeze.

Day 3 was likely my most hectic day on the Monsters of Rock Cruise, as I attended nine shows, guitar teched for Black N’ Blue, and hung out at karaoke until the wee hours of the morning. Cabins are on-sale now starting at $1,899.00 per person (double occupancy, not including mandatory taxes and fee supplement). Cabins are available via the MORC website, where you will find additional information regarding bookings. Headliners include Joe Satriani, The Darkness, Ace Frehley, Extreme, Winger, and KK’s Priest.

Promoter On the Blue Cruises has announced the five-day/five-night full-ship music charter will set sail March 2-7, 2024 aboard Royal Caribbean's Independence Of The Seas and depart from the Port of Miami, Florida. The Monsters of Rock Cruise will be in its eleventh year, setting sail on April 29 aboard the Royal Caribbean's Mariner of the Seas, departing out of Port Canaveral, Florida. The voyage will include two days at sea filled with musical performances along with stops at two ports - Puerto Plata in the Dominican Republic and the Private Isle of Labadee - before returning to Florida to complete the cruise on May 4. Along with all the performances, the Monsters of Rock Cruise will feature Q&A sessions with artists, Gong Show-style karaoke, a “So You Think You Can Shred” contest, cooking with rock stars, painting with rock stars, pick-up basketball with rockstars, beach volleyball, and more. There will a variety of theme nights as well, plus opportunities to take photos and eat meals with select artists. After a few tunes at Rare Hare, I headed to the Theater for one of my favorite bands.

Glenn Hughes – Pool Stage – 8:30 PM

After beginning their previous set so late, I was glad to see this second Pool Stage set run much more smoothly – with the band less stressed, adjusted to the motion of the ship and the intense winds. It is truly impressive how perfectly in time and locked in with each other, especially only playing a few shows a year. There's nothing like nice tropical weather after a hard winter and there's nothing like hitting the seas with some of your favorite rock and metal bands. So in 2023, why not make plans to hop on board for the Monsters of Rock Cruise, featuring a star-studded group of acts providing entertainment throughout your voyage.

Spread Eagle is performing during the “brunch shift,” as singer Ray West called it since they went on at noon. With such a big stage at their disposal, the band took advantage – moving around, standing on the side subwoofers, getting right up front and interacting with the crowd. The two founding members, bassist Rob De Luca and vocalist Ray West, have an incredible musical chemistry that is so evident in their live performances. Not only that, but those two also mesh with drummer Rik De Luca and guitarist Jommy Puledda seamlessly – making for a powerhouse of a band. Another classic rock icon took on Studio B after KK’s Priest, legendary KISS guitarist Ace Frehley.

Next up is the Private Isle of Labadee, the ultimate private destination for cruisers, offering adventure, exploration and relaxation amongst its many bars and pristine waters. Vacationers can amp up the adrenaline on the Dragon’s Tail Coaster, a thrilling 30-mile-per-hour ride with incredible views of the island. For more action, adventurous passengers may choose to strap on a helmet and harness and soar 500-feet down on the Dragon’s Breath Flight Line, the world’s longest zip line over water.

Playing tunes mainly from their first album, as well as a select few songs from later albums, it’s clear that straight up southern sleaze rock is running through the veins of these 5 musicians. Another special guest performance this MORC took place during this set, with Hardcore Superstar’s Jocke Berg singing the Toys’ biggest hit, Scared, with the band. An unlikely pairing and surely something that has never and will never been seen elsewhere. The cruise is set to depart from Miami on March 2nd and will sail to ports of call in Jamaica and the Bahamas before returning to Miami on March 7th.

After being so blown away by their first set on the boat, I had to make sure I made it for their second round. I sat on the stage left side of the theater with my bandmates and our friends in Spread Eagle, all appreciating the sheer talent and artistry on the stage before us. The Darkness gave another impeccable performance, but it would prove to be a controversial one.

Among the acts playing the three-day event are Cinderella’s Tom Keifer, Night Ranger, Extreme, Queensrÿche, Quiet Riot, Stryper, Kix, Firehouse, and more. Meanwhile, another event featuring a slew of ’80s metal artists was also recently announced. The 2022 Monsters on the Mountain festival will take place August 19th-21st at The Gatlinburg Convention Center in the Great Smoky Mountains of Tennessee. Located on the north coast of Jamaica, the town of Ocho Rios is adorned with beautiful golden beaches juxtaposed against its jungle-covered mountains. This backdrop allows for a myriad of unique excursions for guests to enjoy (including river rafting and tubing, swimming with dolphins, or exploring the Green Grotto Caves),relaxing on the beach, or a day enjoying Jamaican rum and local cuisine.

The band started quite late, to no fault of their own – as singer Justin Hawkins would make abundantly clear. Hawkins made quite a few playful jabs at Ace Frehley for supposedly being late, calling him a cunt several times and the audience cheering in agreement. The two would go on to take a photo and make a post together, squashing the beef that had arisen.

In addition, there are plenty of exciting options to choose from, including wave jet rides, parasailing, snorkel safaris, kayak tours, and much more. Consider booking a Barefoot Beach Cabana, which has several types of cabanas with privacy options, or being close to the action, there is sure to be something for everyone. As for the stops, Puerto Plata is nestled by the ocean with a mountainous backdrop. The city offers a lively pier (known as the Malecon), colorful shops and opulent homes from the 1800s.

From Atlantis Aquaventure and Dolphin Encounter tours to relaxing at Blue Lagoon Island Beach Day, the Bahama Islands are magnificent and Nassau is their crown jewel — guaranteed to make Monsters Of Rock 2024 a vacation experience to remember. Plus, official cruise host Eddie Trunk (VH1, SiriusXM) will be moderating Q&A’s and activities specifically designed to bring the party up a notch. As for the Private Isle of Labadee, cruise-goers can partake in its many bars and pristine waters. In addition, there are plenty of exciting options to choose from, including wave jet rides, parasailing, snorkel safaris, kayak tours and much more. Along with the music, additional activities include Q&A sessions, Gong Show Karaoke, “So You Think You Can Shred,” Cooking with Rock Stars, Painting With Rock Stars, Rock Stars vs Average Joe’s Basketball, and more.
